📢 Important Update: USPS Web Tools API Migration – Action Required!

As announced by USPS, the Web Tools API platform will be retired on January 25, 2026. To ensure continued service, all merchants using USPS shipping rates must migrate to the latest USPS API.

What Has Changed?

USPS now requires all API requests to use a secure HTTPS connection. To comply, the API endpoint should be updated:

Old URL: https://production.shippingapis.com/ShippingAPI.dll
New URL: https://secure.shippingapis.com/ShippingAPI.dll

Our VPCart USPS Module has been updated to reflect this change.

What You Need to Do

For Business Ready Plan Customers:
Please submit a helpdesk ticket at VPCart Helpdesk and our support team will make the change for you.

For Other VPCart Customers:
Follow these simple steps to update your USPS API endpoint:

1️⃣ Log in to your VPCart Administration Panel.
2️⃣ Navigate to Modules Manager > Find USPostal Module.
3️⃣ Locate the "Server Name" field.
4️⃣ update the URL to: https://secure.shippingapis.com/ShippingAPI.dll
5️⃣ Save your changes.

By making this update, you’ll ensure uninterrupted USPS shipping rate calculations in your VPCart store.

The download is free if you have a current license, otherwise you will need to upgrade your license to download the latest module.
📌 Note: If you are using VPCart 9 or VPCart 8, you only need to update the endpoint URL in the Modules Manager. Re-downloading and reinstalling the module is not required.
